What is Tencel and what are its properties?

Tencel is a 100% natural material made from eucalyptus fiber that is produced sustainably. Good for people and the environment. It is therefore not surprising that it is a “rising star” among sustainable designers.

What makes Tencel so sustainable?

The wood for Tencel is sourced from specially cultivated, sustainable forests. These forests are located in South Africa, where soil quality is low. Agriculture is not an option, but eucalyptus trees still grow there. The forests are managed sustainably and new trees are therefore planted in good time. That is why this wood also bears the FSC quality mark.
